Tuesday Blog

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Cloudy and warm today here in beautiful Downtown Lakeville.  We are supposed to have thunder storms this afternoon.  That is not good  for business in the candy store.
Today we have a tutorial from out friends at Picture Correct on focusing your camera.  This is very important to getting a sharp picture.  It touches on Depth of Field as well.

I belong to Camera Group on LinkedIn.  There is a big discussion going on about the best way to back up your images while you are traveling.  Each person has their own opinions on this subject.  I bring my laptop with me when we are traveling in the motorhome.   That way I can download my pictures on to the laptop.  I try to always make a disk as well as backing up on to a external hard drive.  It sounds pretty redundit but it has saved me in the past.  If I am flying somewhere or out in the field I just bring extra chips for my camera and download when I get home.  You have to make sure you keep the empty chips separate from the ones you have filled up.
The external hard drive I use is called My Passport from Western Digital.  I like it because it is small and easy to slip into the pocket of my laptop case and it has 500MG of storage space.  Western Digital has a Mother's Day promotion right now.  The My Passport External Hardrive is on sale for $89.99.  The regular price $119.99.  You, also, get a free case thrown in while supplies last.  They are offering free shipping on orders over $100.00 so you can get one for Mom and one for yourself.

The company I use for my Reservation System sent out an alert today warning the Travel Community about some Phishing emails that are being sent to Travel Agents.  They pretend to be from Reservation System company but they are really just after your sign in information.  We have to be very careful because if someone is able to sign in they can run airline tickets and access a lot of personal information on our clients.
You never want to give any type of information unless you know for sure who are dealing with.  Most companies do not send emails asking for personal or business sign in information.  If you are in question always put in a call to the company to double check.
This one is for all the gals.  It is from Learn Vest about the mistakes women make with their money.  This is a big generalization but they do make some good points.  I think there are as many men as women who make mistakes with their finances.  I think we all wish we were better with our hard earned dollars.  My big weakness is Camera Gear.
