Happy Thursday everyone. It is a lovely day here in Minnesota. It has warmed up and the sun is shining with a light wind. A special gift from Mother Nature.
One of my photos is going to be used in a promotional video for the non profit organization, Oak Alley Foundation. It is quite an honor to be chosen from the thousands of images out there. I took the photo in New Orleans on a foggy day in 2005. Here is a link to my Flickr page with the shot they will be using: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26332264@N03/2471874954/in/photostream/

Here is an article about some of the things to avoid when you are moving up from amateur to professional in Photography. The one I did not see was what they calling "Chimping" which is stoping to check your screen after each shot.

Here is an article with tips on photographing wild life. I have found this to be quite difficult unless you are at the zoo. You have to ready to shoot at all time when you are in a wild life area. It requires a lot of patiece to sit and wait to get a shot. A zoom lens really helps because you can be farther away and not spook the animal. If you have any questions about this Please let me know.

Family Fun Night is coming up Thursday, April 26th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. The event will be at Market Plaza in Downtown Lakeville which is next to Ace Hardware. There will be free food, games & entertainment. This event is sponsored by the Retail Committee of the Downtown Lakeville Business Association. A big Thank You to Ace Hardware for coming up the idea. Miracole's Candy Shoppe and Inside The Frame will have coupons for some free stuff so don't miss it.
New on the travel front: some of the resorts in Hawaii are starting to offer some psuedo "All Inclusive" packages. I am sure this is to try and compete with the All Inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. You usually will get the most for your money with an All Inclusive resort and you will have a better handle on how much your vacation will cost.
Please check out your local merchants this weekend when you are out and about.
Thank you for reading my Blog!
